Facility Maintenance Technician




JOB TITLE:  Facility Maintenance Technician   FLSA STATUS:  Nonexempt    PREPARED:  03.30.2017
 
SUMMARY
Performs a variety of general maintenance and janitorial duties, including maintaining company buildings and grounds. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
* Provides care for company grounds including such activities as maintaining the lawn, landscaping, and removing snow as needed.
* Ensures property grounds are free of garbage and other debris. 
* Maintains buildings as needed, including minor repairs, replacing lighting fixtures, cleaning windows, and painting when necessary.
* Performs minor plumbing repairs as needed. 
* Performs janitorial duties, including cleaning restrooms, break rooms, and other common areas.
* Travels as needed.
* Receives and carries out instructions.
* Maintains regular and predictable attendance.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
* Communicates effectively.
* Exhibits ability to read, write, talk and hear; add, subtract, multiply and divide; and lift and/or move up to 70 lbs as required.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Valid driver’s license

WORK ENVIRONMENT
The nature of the environment is one in which the employee may come in contact with outside weather conditions, vibration, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme cold or extreme heat and excessive noise levels.
